Grass Valley Cornish Christmas

We did it! We survived Cornish Christmas last Friday night. Santa was awesome and the lighting was decent but overall it was a huge success. We took ton's of pictures and we're very surprised at everyone's willingness to let loose and sit on Santa's lap. It was a good time... only three more Friday's left until it's over.

Empire Mine

We shot a bride/groom photoshoot at Empire Mine in Grass Valley at around noon. The lighting was a bit harsh but overall the bride and groom prevailed.

Lozano Family Portrait

Later that afternoon we shot the Lozano family portrait in Chicago Park. Wonderful, beautiful people that were extremely fun to photograph. What are the chances you'll get eighteen different people to keep their eyes open, looking at the camera and smiling all at the same time...

Christmas Portraits

We signed up for Grass Valley Cornish Christmas and had a mockup photoshoot in our outdoor studio in preparation for the big night. With just one softbox, halo light and a reflector we were able to achieve the perfect soft lighting required to capture these fun Christmas portraits.

Web Site Launch!

Well, with the new release of our web site we thought it would be appropraite to complement it with a blog site. If you haven't already, check out http://www.laferrierephotgraphy.com/. Much has happened recently with LaFerriere Photography which is why we'd like to share our ongoing adventure. Below is a picture of Jessica and I at Bear Valley at sunset. One day I would love to photograph a bride standing in the middle of the soft brown sea of dried grass.

Earlier that day we photographed two cute little angels while in Truckee. The photos turned out nice despite the lack of direct light.
